This policy explains what information Rust Belt Tycoon ("the game", "we", "us") collects when you play on the web or in our Android app, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email us at info@imaginativedistractatory.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, the password you choose (stored only in encrypted form by our sign-in provider) and the name you give us.
- Game progress. Your saved games, player profiles and settings are stored on your device (in your browser's local storage). We do not need them on our servers to run the game.
- Purchases. On the website, payments are handled entirely by Stripe (cards) or PayPal on their own secure checkout pages. We never see or store your card number or PayPal login. We receive a record that a purchase was completed (what was bought, when, and a payment reference) so we can unlock it.
- Ads. The game can show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to show and measure ads. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Usage and diagnostics. We collect basic, aggregated usage information (such as pages visited, device and browser type and approximate region) to understand how the game is used and to fix problems.
- Messages you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
- To run the game, unlock purchases and restore them if something goes wrong.
- To show ads and measure how they perform.
- To understand usage, fix bugs and improve the game.
- To answer your questions and handle account-deletion requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the game: our app hosting and sign-in provider (Base44), Stripe and PayPal for payments, Google for ads and analytics, and our email provider. They may only use it to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your account information within 30 days, except purchase records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (usually up to 7 years). Game progress stored on your device stays there until you clear it or uninstall the app.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: visit the Delete account page or email us.
- Access or correct your data: email us and we will respond within 30 days.
- Clear your game data: clear your browser data for this site, or uninstall the Android app.
Children
Rust Belt Tycoon is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Payments are processed by Stripe and PayPal, which are both certified to the highest PCI security level. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced in the game.
